Exceptional orthopedic care, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation.

Bone Infections
Osteomyelitis, a bone infection, is a rare but serious condition and surgery may be recommended. During this procedure, the surgeon cuts away dead or damaged bone tissue, and washes the wound to remove any dead or loose tissue. A bone graft or metal implant may replace the bone and soft tissues that have been removed.

Complex Fractures
Fractures are labeled “complex” for a variety of reasons. Either the bone has been broken into small bits and pieces, or the soft tissue surrounding the bone is severely damaged, or the patient has other injuries that may complicate treatment. Our surgeons specialize in orthopedic trauma, including complex fractures.

Knee & Hip Arthritis
Arthritis is a loss of cartilage that can impact your movement and mobility. When cartilage is damaged, bone rubs on bone causing pain, tenderness and inflammation. Our physicians are experts at treating knee and hip pain. Treatment may include non-surgical options, such as physical therapy, or surgery including joint replacement. MCMC is the only total joint facility in the Gorge to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Total Hip and Total Knee Replacement.

Limb Length Inequality
For patients with limb inequalities, limb lengthening surgery can be life changing. Whether due to due to congenital issues (birth defects), developmental disorders, or post-traumatic limb disorders, limb length inequalities can often be corrected through a complex process that involves gradually growing new bone and soft tissue. Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Doug Beaman has been successfully performing limb lengthening surgeries for years and has helped countless patients improve the quality of their lives.

Lower Extremity Deformity
Deformities of the legs, ankles and feet can often be corrected with surgery. Deformity correction is a procedure to straighten a bone that is bent or twisted in a way that is not normal. After the bone is straightened, the arm, leg, or foot has normal alignment and function. At MCMC Orthopedic Institute, we treat lower extremity deformities in children and adults.
